At a time when Jack Miller has just been made official on his bike next year, Scott Redding makes some rather moving remarks on the microphone of our excellent colleague Peter McLaren for the site crash.net.

We report the following passage, quite poignant.

Scott Redding isn't sure about a lot of things regarding MotoGP 2018, but one thing is clear; He won't pay to fly.

Scott Redding : “If I'm honest, right now I have no idea what I'm going to do. I want to stay here in the paddock. I believe I have the potential to show what I'm worth. I just need to find the right solution for me right now. It's not easy and there aren't really many options. In fact, these are not “options” , it is more " an option " ...

To begin with, I have no money to pay. If you have to pay to ride a motorcycle, you're better off staying home, in my opinion. I've said it since day one. I almost finished my career in 2009, before bouncing back in 2010. I would never pay to put my life at risk, when I should be earning money to do so. I don't come here to have a hobby. This is to earn a living, to live, and to survive when this is over.

I know some guys have money and sponsors, and they just want to race and can spend 700 euros per year. But I wouldn't even spend 7 to ride a motorcycle. For me, it's a job, not a hobby... And I don't have any money to invest, anyway. »
