The rumor has been circulating since this summer but was amplified with a Speedweek article that we had reported last Saturday.

We then tried to gather some information but we were kindly turned away by qualifying our curiosity by what could be translated as “girlish impatience”… 🙂 just telling us that an official announcement would probably not take place before the Qatar Grand Prix.

However, today, several of our other sources confirm to us that the contract is indeed signed. So it's almost official, Triumph will supply Moto2 engines from 2019.

As expected, it will be a three-cylinder whose exact displacement could be revealed tomorrow, but which we can obviously assume will be around 750cc.

As a reminder, the new Street triples are expected with a 765cc engine…

Looking forward to 2019 to hear the fabulous sound of the three-cylinder in almost free exhaust!
