Although he only set the tenth fastest time in the morning in the cold, Andrea Iannone progressed to seventh position in the afternoon. He therefore took a good option for direct qualification in Q2 which he is confident of joining tomorrow for his last qualification with Ducati.

Iannone is only two tenths behind the best Ducati driven by Andrea Dovizioso, and seven tenths behind the best time of the day set by Jorge Lorenzo. He is also only a little more than two tenths from fourth position which today belonged to Pol Espargaro.

For Iannone, “I'm happy because today we started on the right foot, with confirmation of the good feeling I had with the bike during the last races. Valencia is still a bit difficult for us, but we are working to improve our performance. We need to work on the settings to allow the bike to give me better performance out of corners, but all in all, for me it was a good Friday.”
