The 2017 MotoGP season began at the Valencia circuit today during the first test of the off-season. The opportunity to see the newcomers on their new machine. A field still technically heterogeneous but it was essential to mark your territory. In this game, Vinales impressed.

Jorge Lorenzo left but Valentino Rossi found a great new teammate in the person of Maverick Vinales, 21 years old. For 20 thousandths, the one who comes from Suzuki with a victory taken this season has gained the upper hand over his illustrious elder who fell without seriousness. Both men are at the top of the timesheet. The Spaniard set the benchmark for the day at 1'30.930.

The third man is none other than Jorge Lorenzo, now a Ducati rider and who achieved his performance on a GP16. The Mallorcan is a little more than a tenth behind the two Yamahas and ahead Marc Márquez to the suspected new Honda engine. Dovizioso closes the top 5 and is therefore beaten by his new teammate. That said, everything is relative because the Italian used the new GP17.

Crutchlow is sixth with an RC213V which has nothing to envy of the HRC machines. It precedes a Iannone who does better than getting his bearings at Suzuki. The two pilots also fell without damage. Redding Barbera et Pedrosa close the top 10.

Miller is the first to appear in the second part of the ranking ahead of Baptist who discovers the Ducati by meeting the Aspar team. Pirro which replaces Petrucci absent for personal reasons is thirteenth and does better thanAleix Espargaró who meets his new Aprilia. His brother Pol who does the same with the KTM is nineteenth, just in front of his teammate Smith.

Among the rookies, it is Folger who leads by nothing in front of his partner zarco, both men clocking sixteenth and seventeenth. The Tech3 duo is doing better than Kidneys twenty-first on my Suzuki and that Sam Lowes, twenty-fourth on the Aprilia. Testing will continue tomorrow.
