The information is as important as it is brief: Valentino Rossi has already reached an agreement to renew his contract with Yamaha for another year, which expires at the end of 2018.

Officially, when questioned on the subject, the Italian driver provided his usual answer this weekend: he will be there in 2019 if his first results in 2018 live up to his expectations.

But Carlo Pernat, always very well informed in the Italian MotoGP world and former manager of the Doctor, told us what would be excellent news for the world of MotoGP…

Charles Pernat : “I know something about the future of Valentino. According to the information I have, he has already signed a contract for 2019 with Yamaha. La Dorna put a lot of pressure because Valentino is essential for MotoGP. Honestly, even though I haven't seen the contract personally, I'm confident in what I'm saying. So you can say it, although he will probably say the opposite if you ask him the question. He will answer that he doesn't know yet. He signed just for 2019.”
