After his superb victory on Sunday obtained at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Dani Pedrosa continued his work on Tuesday and Wednesday in preparation for next season. During these two days of testing, he started like his teammate Marc Marquez on the current machine in the morning before switching to the new one.
Both riders made adjustments to the engine, chassis and electronics, and were able to accumulate useful information for the development of the 2018 bike. They also tested a tire Michelin rear with a slightly different rubber.
Dani completed a total of 51 laps finishing in second place in 1'30.436. For comparison, his best time in the race on Sunday was 1'31.823, the fifth time 0.247 behind the fastest lap of Johann zarco in 1'31.576, and on Tuesday he was eleventh in 1'31.328, 1.139 behind the leader Maverick Vinales.
This was the last test of the year for the Repsol Honda team. The next time Marc and Dani will be on the rail track will be in Malaysia at the end of January.
Objective: to celebrate a new victory, like that of Sunday…

According to Dani Pedrosa, “We started the test by checking the track with the bike I used for the race, then immediately switched to the new bike to analyze the set-up changes we made on Tuesday afternoon.
“We basically tested a different setup with the electronics, suspension and geometry, looking to better understand how the new bike handles.
“We're not just looking at performance, but also trying to understand what the bike is doing on the tires and on this track, and finding out what the positives and the weak points are.
“We also tried a new swingarm and a new Michelin rear tire which has a different compound on one side. So it was a lot of work, with a lot of different things to figure out and put together. “We have made a lot of progress, but of course we do not yet have all the parameters. Overall, it was a very important session, and we gathered a lot of information to work with over the winter break. »
