Sales of Ducati is something that the Volkswagen automotive group has resigned itself to. Entangled in a story of rigged diesel engines which is shaking the entire automotive world, the German group must sell its family jewels to pay fines and settlements. Ducati is part of this bailout process. So who would buy for more than a billion euros what was acquired for 860 million?

We know that the Canadians are on the case, that the Chinese are thinking about it and that the Indians are in line with the Austrians. As for the Americans, it seems that we are not going any further in the process. To be honest, Harley-Davidson looked at the file, but ultimately decided not to submit an offer. The Chinese Loncin Motor had also expressed interest but it is not known whether it is still in the race.

Because to carry out the sale, the boss of Volkswagen Matthias Müller will have to convince the unions of the automobile group who are currently opposed to it and who control half of the seats on the supervisory board, which will have to decide.
