After being fractured collarbone left during private tests on the Valencia circuit, Hector Barbera was operate in Barcelona by Doctor Mir.

Unfortunately, today, during the team presentation in Andorra, the Valencian announced his withdrawal from the official tests which will begin next Friday in Qatar.

Here is the official press release from the Reale Avintia Racing team.

Hector Barbera: “My injury came at the worst time and I will not be able to take part in the last Test in Qatar. With the first race on the calendar being so close, I didn't want to take any unnecessary risks. It makes more sense to treat myself to get back in top shape. After the problems we had to face during the pre-season, this was the worst that could happen to us. But we have to be positive, because I will be at my best for the season opener. This year, the team has been strengthened with the arrival of Reale who joins Avintia as well as the many sponsors who support us. The presentation went well and the bike is magnificent. We just need to focus on the first event of the season to fight for the Top 5, or as close as we can get. ”

Now here is the video taken by GPone showing off his Ducati Panigale (ridden by a substitute) at the Spanish team presentation in Andorra today… where this GP14.2 (the racing bikes are already in Qatar) was delivered by helicopter…
