Dani Pedrosa completed the same exercise for Repsol as his teammate Marc Márquez some time agot: self-interview. Discover the most intimate secrets of the future MotoGP legend in a video in Spanish, subtitled in English, and translated into French just below.

Is there anything you've never said in an interview?
Surely there are certain fears that you can feel when you participate in a World Championship and you don't entrust anyone to protect you.

How many interviews have you done in your life?
I couldn't say, but a lot!

You seem more comfortable in interviews. Is this due to the years?
Yes, with experience we learn to better manage situations to which we are not accustomed, and we obviously have more weapons with which to defend ourselves.

What question could you ask yourself? A question that a journalist has never asked you?
Probably a question related to something we don't see in sport: how to overcome fear? I was asked similar questions like “are you afraid on the bike?” ”, but never “how does it happen when you’re afraid?” How are you doing ? »

Now you see young drivers arriving in the World Cup. What memories come to mind when you think back to your beginnings?
Things have changed a lot in this sport. Before, it was easier to see the potential of a driver with two-strokes. Today I have more difficulty seeing who is good and who is not so good with the four strokes. Apart from that, I see the difference because a young driver who starts today has more dynamics with events, the connection with fans, publications on social networks. It’s a “package” that goes together. Before, all this was an extra thing you did after riding, which was the most important thing.

Is there anything you miss about the Dani from when you first started racing?
Naivety and innocence.

If you could redo your first season in the World Cup with the experience you have today, what advice would you apply?
The fact that each moment is unique and cannot be repeated, that you have to concentrate on it and not say to yourself "I'll see next time to do even better." » If you can do something better now, do it.

I see you're starting to have some gray hairs. Are you the type to hide them or assume them?
That's life ! To be honest, I like them. They grew when I was in the hospital after an accident. I walked into the operating room with no gray hairs, and when I came out I had them. Every time I go to the hairdresser, I'm told "oh I'm going to hide them or take them off" and I say "no, leave them on!" » (laughs)

Are you the type who has trouble falling asleep or falls asleep as soon as you go to bed?
It depends. Sometimes, when I've trained hard during the day and everything has gone well, I fall asleep right away. But in general I think a lot when going to sleep.

What vital experience have you had?
Simply life! Especially in MotoGP, which is an incredible platform to get to know yourself. You experience a lot of things in races, you rub shoulders with fans, sponsors, people of different nationalities, who come from different countries, and all that brings you back to what you experience with yourself, how you face all that. Ultimately, how you overcome it all teaches you who you are.

Do you have any professional or personal plans for your retirement?
I have ideas but they're just plans, just plans. Nothing has been started.

As a die-hard cyclist, which mountains would you like to climb?
I've already climbed a lot of them, and some tough ones. But there are still some in the Dolomites that I would like to do. I still miss it in Italy and the landscapes there are really great.

And where in the world would you like to go windsurfing?
It's something I've had to put on hold because of my career, but I already have travel in mind. I would like, for example, to go to Hawaii because it is the mecca of windsurfing and I have never been there.
