Valencia local police reported the arrest of Héctor Barberá for road safety violations last night.

The Spanish pilot tested positive for alcohol, according to judicial sources. This is the third time that Barberá has been arrested for the same cause. The Valencian will have to undergo an immediate trial from Friday, according to the newspaper 'Las Provincias'.

Héctor Barberá was arrested early this morning driving an Audi RS6 in central Valencia. The pilot was arrested during a routine check by a patrol of agents on Avenida de Baleares and, after undergoing alcohol tests, he tested positive.

Also according to the newspaper “Las Provincias”, the Valencian pilot had 0,67 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, and was therefore taken to the local police headquarters to be brought before the courts. This Friday, he will have to undergo a speedy trial for this traffic safety offense.

This is the third time that Hector Barberá has faced such an accusation, according to 'Las Provincias'. In 2014, he had his license revoked and his car immobilized. In the second arrest, he was stopped for testing positive on an alcohol test after ignoring several red lights. Without even mentioning his legal troubles after a physical altercation with his girlfriend... in short, the Iberian is hot-blooded!
On a sporting level, the Valencia rider currently occupies 19th place in the Moto2 world championship within the Pons HP 40 team.
