Saturday night, we already informed you between the lines of what happened that day in Austria.

Let's call this " losing the mind " ou " going crazy ", it comes to the same thing; Romano Fenati lost his cool on Saturday afternoon at the Red Bull Ring.

Returning from qualifying during which the Italian driver obtained an 11th position while he still occupies 3rd place in the world championship, the leader of the Sky VR46 team insulted and attacked his own suspension technician, Pietro Caprara. Pablo Nieto, the team manager of the Italian team had to come to blows, with the reinforcement of Uccio, childhood friend of Valentino Rossi and stakeholder in the Moto3 team, to separate them.

The matter could have ended there, because this is not the first time that this has happened, particularly with Vittoriano Guareschi ou Rossano Brazzi in the past.
But when Uccio took Fenati to the hospital to calm him down, the situation only got worse and the pilot allegedly tried to use the metal part of his Pass to strike his boss in the throat. A melee would have followed… with the immediate sanction that we know; goodbye to the Sky VR46 team and its planned move to Moto2 next year.

The attitude is certainly unacceptable and Valentino Rossi, informed after the fact, was totally supportive of the management he put in place, even if it meant having to explain yourself to journalists : “For us, it’s a real shame. We are not happy, because it feels like we have lost a battle. Fenati is a rider with excellent talent and we wanted to bet on him for the future and in Moto2 next season, but unfortunately we have to give up.

I don't think he will be able to race with us in Brno. This was not a decision taken lightly, and I don't think we can change it. Sometimes Romano explodes, but the problem is that it's a situation that repeats itself regularly every 3 or 4 races. It's like always going back to square one and that will never change. »

In fact, the decision is made, and well made, and the staff of Valentino Rossi is already working to find a replacement for fenati, even if it means outbidding certain current contracts…

However, and even if, we repeat, his attitude is unacceptable, Roman Fenati is not considered a bad guy in the paddock. Sanguine and hot like an animal present at the Red Bull Ring, that's for sure, but not a bad background.

“He lost his mind”, either. His performances a little too inconsistent while the talent is there, as well as the arrival and results of the Rookie Nicolo Bulega are undoubtedly not completely foreign to it…
