Moto2™ and Moto3™ enter the competition portfolio for which Pirelli is the exclusive supplier

WorldSBK remains the major championship in terms of product development

Particular attention is paid to junior competitions with the Talent Cups, and women's competitions with the Women's World Championship

No prototypes, but commercial tires, and the highest level technologies accessible to all

Pirelli is ready to take on the challenges of this new season of motorcycle competitions, which will kick off in Australia for the first round of the FIM WorldSBK. The most important information from the start of the season? The arrival of Pirelli in the championships Moto2 ™ et Moto3 ™ as an exclusive supplier for 3 years, at least until the end of 2026.

The Italian tire firm will bring its philosophy, embodied by its now famous slogan “We sell what we race, we race what we sell” (“We sell the tires we race with, we race with the tires we sell”).
This philosophy will touch a new paddock, with the replacement of prototypes with standard tires, as has been the case for more than 20 seasons in World SBK, the main Pirelli R&D laboratory.
Still with the Racing products of the DIABLO family, Pirelli will also be the exclusive supplier of the new FIM Women's Motorcycling World Championship and Talent Cups, dedicated to the pilots of tomorrow and the Dorna project: Road to MotoGP™.

These championships are added to a list 150 other competitions, on and off road, of which Pirelli will be a major player in 2024.
On the circuit, Pirelli will also participate in some of the most prestigious national championships such as the British Superbike (exclusive supplier since 2008), the German IDM Championship and the French Superbike, to recite nobody else but them.
Pirelli's commitment to off-road is also confirmed, starting with the FIM Motocross World Championship organized by Infront, for which Pirelli holds a significant record of 81 world titles and will be official supplier until 2025 inclusive.

“This year our commitment to motorcycle racing is stronger than ever with the entry as exclusive tire supplier not only in Moto2™ and Moto3™ but also in the various talent cups, which are part of the Dorna Road to project MotoGP™, and in the FIM Women's Motorcycling World Championship. A new recognition of our leading role in the motorsport panorama as well as the quality of our product and the work that we have been carrying out for years in the FIM Superbike World Championship, the Motocross World Championship and in numerous other national competitions. We will also bring our philosophy to the new championships, which is nothing other than the maximum application of the concept "from the track to the road": in our case, no transfer of technology is necessary because the tires used by the pilots are not prototypes but standards, which any motorcyclist can buy. We will take on new challenges with enthusiasm, a close-knit team and the work methodology that has always distinguished us. »

MOTO2™ AND MOTO3™, NEW PADDOCK FOR A NEW CHALLENGE
The Qatar Grand Prix (March 8-10) will mark Pirelli's official debut in the Moto2™ and Moto3™ Championships following private testing in September at the Barcelona circuit, and the first official testing for the 2024 season, held in November on the Valencia circuit. Drivers set record lap times there. As part of the company's strategy, both categories will become an important driver for the further development of the Pirelli brand, both in terms of commercial growth and technological development.
Riders will be able to count on the undeniable performance of DIABLO Superbike and DIABLO Rain tires, both of which have been used successfully for years by riders of all classes of the FIM World Superbike as well as those of numerous national championships.
More specifically, Moto2™ riders will use 125/70 R17 front slicks with SC1 and SC2 compounds and 200/65 R17 rear slicks with SC0 and SC1 compounds. The DIABLO Rain solution, in a single wet compound, will be available in dimensions 120/70 R17 at the front and 200/60 R17 at the rear.
As for the slicks for Moto3™, the 100/70 R17 front will be available in SC1 and SC2 compounds, the same one also used for the 120/70 R17 rear. Same front size for the DIABLO Rain solution for wet conditions while the rear will be 125/70 R17.

WORLDSBK: MAIN DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM
Pirelli's technical partnership with the FIM Superbike World Championship represented the first example of a single tire in the history of motorsport's greatest competitions and, more than twenty years later, it has proven to be a winning choice, followed by other championships on two and four wheels.
Over time, Pirelli has continued to make technological innovation its flagship, each time dictating the new parameters of racing tires used around the world: in 2013 with the historic transition from 16,5 inch tires to the new 17-inch tires; in 2018 with the adoption of new dimensions; the following year with the introduction of the new SCX compound and new rain tire compounds; and finally in 2022 with the development of the SCQ compound specifically dedicated to the new Superpole and Superpole Race formats.
The WorldSBK Championship will remain the reference point for the development of the entire Pirelli Racing range in the coming seasons, which will then be made available to all championships.

ROAD TO MOTOGP AND WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: SUPPORTING THE JUNIOR AND WOMEN'S CATEGORIES
Thanks to Moto2™ and Moto3™, Pirelli enters as official tire supplier in the championships linked to the project Road to MotoGP™, the FIM initiative for the promotion of young talents throughout the world. Pirelli will supply all classes of the World Championship Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™, de the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, Northern Talent Cup and Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, in addition to strengthening its commitment to FIM MiniGP World Series.
Alongside the WorldSBK Championship – where Pirelli is already present in all categories, including entry-level competitions such as WorldSSP300 and FIM World Cup Yamaha R3 bLU cRU – DIABLO Superbike tires will equip the Yamaha YZF-R7 with the new FIM Women's Motorcycling World Cup, championship which will begin on June 14 in Misano, first of the six scheduled rounds. Pirelli was already alongside Ana Carrasco in 2018 when she became the first woman in history to win a mixed motorcycle championship, in Supersport 300 World Championship.
These championships are therefore consistent with Pirelli's strategy: to be present in all major competitions dedicated to the drivers of tomorrow and to facilitate the inclusion of women in the world of motor sports.
