In the middle of the 81st edition of EICMA, the line-up of the 2025 World Supersport is being defined. Among the teams and riders of the category, there are days of negotiations, discussions, but also some contract signings. Market movements destined to upset the balance and, above all, to further increase interest for the coming year.

YAMAHA TO THE RESCUE
At this stage, everything revolves around Yamaha's projects, whose highly anticipated YZF-R9 whets the appetite of "top riders". After the announcements of the renewals of Stefano manzi et Lucas Mahias respectively with Ten Kate Racing et GMT94, in addition to the agreement of Niccolo Antonelli with the team VFT Racing by Fabio Menghi, the last chronologically to have bet on the “new weapon” of the house with three tuning forks respond to the name of Michael Ruben Rinaldi, Can Öncü, Aldi Mahendra et Yuki Okamoto.

RINALDI MOVES TO WORLDSSP
Let's proceed in order. After a mediocre interlude with Motocorsa Ducati, Michael Ruben Rinaldi (in the opening photo) has agreed to return to WorldSSP. As we know, the 1000 European Superstock 2017 champion will have another chance with GMT94, forming with Lucas Mahias, already mentioned, a first-rate line-up. The goal? To immediately bring the Yamaha R9 to the top and, above all, to fight until the end for the title. In fact, for the Rimini rider, this is the last resort to relaunch his career.

DOUBLE HIT FOR TEN KATE
This is a double commitment. As the flagship team of Yamaha Motor Europe, Ten Kate will continue to field two bikes for the 2025 WorldSSP. After bidding farewell to Glenn Van Straalen (in turn in negotiations with the team Ducati D34G by Davide Giugliano), the multi-decorated Dutch formation will bring Yuki Okamoto on the Old Continent at the request of the parent company. The Japanese rider, with a brief history in CIV Supersport, will make the big jump to the All Japan universe, where this year he was crowned JSB1000 champion (the Japanese Superbike) for the very first time with the official colors of Iwata.

EVAN BROS YEAR ZERO
Team Evan Bros Racing will be one of Yamaha's best elements. While Valentine Debise heading to Ducati, Fabio Evangelista has completely revised his team. It will focus on the "green line": on the one hand on Can Öncü in search of redemption after the difficulties of the last period with Kawasaki Puccetti, on the other hand on the bet represented by the brand new Supersport 300 world champion Aldi Mahendra. The young Indonesian, who is already making headlines, will be able to develop without worrying about results. To aim high from the start, the Turk will be a sure bet. In short, a total reset in the house Evan Bros to find the path to victory.

WRP REVOLUTION
Important news for the team too WRP Wepol Racing : new bike, new pair of riders. The Czech team, which had brought our Lorenzo Baldassarri on the track at the end of this 2024 season, abandons the Triumph project to embrace the Ducati cause. For this ambitious challenge, trust will be placed in the former MV Agusta rider Marcel Schroetter (now a sure value in the category) and Ondrey Vostatek, who is expected to make the final leap in quality in his third full-time season in WorldSSP.
