Sunday's sixth round of the 2025 World Supersport Championship (WorldSSP) ended in a blaze of glory for Team Renzi Corse at the Misano circuit. After a solid performance on Saturday, the Italian team led by Stefano Renzi secured a podium finish thanks to a masterful race from Valentin Debise in the lead role.
From the warm-up on Sunday morning, Valentin Debise confirmed his comfort aboard the Ducati, improving on his best Superpole lap to finish the session in seventh place, with a time of 1'37.473. This auspicious sign set the tone for the main race, scheduled for 12:35.
A race that lived up to all expectations. Determined to right the wrong of the previous day, when he narrowly missed the podium, Valentin Debise made an excellent start, staying in direct contact with the leading group of four riders, all ready to battle for the top spots. The eventful race was finally interrupted by a red flag on lap thirteen, freezing the positions.
Thanks to a perfectly executed strategy and a fine example of consistency, the French driver was then in third place. The race was definitively interrupted, and he was thus able to give Team Renzi Corse a well-deserved podium at home, as well as valuable championship points.
“I'm really happy to finish the weekend on the podium, confides the Tricolor. It was an intense race, and I knew we had to push from the start. We did a great job throughout the weekend, improving step by step. I thank the team for their incredible support and hard work. Now our focus turns to Donington, where we want to continue fighting at the front."
After this successful weekend, the team is already looking ahead to the next round of the calendar, scheduled for July 11-13 at the legendary Donington Park circuit. Debise will arrive there with the ambition of remaining among the major players in the category.
"We are very happy with how this weekend went, continues Stefano Renzi, Team Manager of the eponymous team. Valentin was consistent, fast, and showed great maturity. After narrowly missing out on the podium yesterday, today's result is a well-deserved reward for the entire team. Everyone gave their all, and it motivates us even more for Donington. We will continue to work with full focus to continue on this path."
