If this were confirmed, and the site promises that this will be the case in the coming hours, it would mean that Petrux would have achieved his goals. The Italian has in fact been proclaiming for a while that he wants to join the Superbike world while the Ducati staff wanted him to continue his adventure in MotoAmerica…
Despite what appears to have been a standoff, Danilo Petrucci would continue to be loyal to the Borgo Panigale clan since his handlebars would be within the Barni team which fields a Panigale V4R. At Phillip Island, it was Xavi Fores who had used it.

Danilo Petrucci revealed himself in SuperStock 1000 giving the title to what was then the very young 1098R in 2011. Then he evolved in MotoGP, notably under the Ducati banner, did a Dakar with KTM winning a stage, all before discover MotoAmerica with Ducati. He also did some freelance work in MotoGP this year on the Suzuki GSX-RR before it was scrapped…
If the trend continues, Ducati will have to find its replacement at short notice for a MotoAmerica strategic for the Italian brand in its adventure on the North American market.
