Alvaro Bautista

Alvaro Bautista is the reigning WSBK World Champion after a campaign, where, he is sure, he not only entered the history of a Ducati brand which had been waiting for this coronation since 2011 with Carlos Checa, but also in its legend. However, this posture should not be taken as arrogance. It would rather be the expression of true sincerity, since, at the same time, he does not hesitate to reveal his admiration for one of his direct rivals: Toprak Razgatlioglu.

When a pilot expresses his enthusiasm towards one of his opponents, the latter is generally already retired, and therefore no longer represents the slightest danger. It is rare that this enthusiasm is admitted for a direct competitor, who will remain a permanent danger for the conquest of the world title. And yet it is this exception that assumes Álvaro Bautista, official Ducati who won the WSBK crown last year.

The one who was also on top of the world in the late 125 category in Grand Prix, in 2006, commented on the official website of the category, about his two toughest competitors who are Jonathan Rhea et Toprak Razgatiloglu : " I am the hardest-working pilot, but Jonathan is the most combative while Toprak is a talent ". A final mention which he specifies as follows: “I would like to control the bike like Toprak. He's amazing, he does what he wants ».

Alvaro Bautista: “ sprint races are a good thing, both for drivers and fans«

By winning this title in WSBK, Alvaro Bautista joined in the statistics Max Biaggi and John Kocinski which were crowned in the category reserved for motorcycles from the series, after having been dedicated to the Grand Prix. A paddock that he sometimes misses, and that he would like to find again by trying, for example, a GP22, even hoping for a hypothetical wild card in MotoGP…

He opened up about it to Gigi Dall'Igna who doesn't seem to really enjoy the prospect. At the very least, the Spaniard has the right to give his prediction for the 2023 season of MotoGP... " To fabio quartararo, everything will depend on the help he receives from Yamaha, because they are a little further behind and will only have two bikes next year. And the same goes for Marc Marquez. As a pilot, he is still recovering. Even if you are very fast but you have to find your rhythm, the one that gives you the confidence to live another year at a high level ».

« We also have to see what Honda will offer him ". He adds on his colors Ducati : " Pecco Bagnaia, for his part, is a very complete rider who is very comfortable on a Ducati. This title brought him a lot of confidence and peace of mind ". And he ends with what will be one of the attractions of the year: “ we will also see how the new Sprint race format works, which the drivers will need some time to get used to, but for me it is a good thing, both for the drivers and for the fans ».
