Toprak Razgatlioglu

Although he missed the last six races, Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) continues to lead the championship standings World SBK Superbike with 365 points. However, his comfortable margin was reduced to just 13 points before the round at Motorland Aragon, following the results of Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) at the Italian round in Cremona.

Furthermore, further information will be communicated closer to the event and the Turkish driver's participation in the next Tissot Aragon race remains uncertain and will depend on his state of health.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) maintains third place in the standings after securing two podiums in Italy, despite his injury. His lead over alex lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) has increased by 28 points, and the latter now has only 3 points more than Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team), the best independent rider, after his magnificent hat-trick of victories in Cremona. With a 101-point lead in the independent riders' standings and 186 points still available before the round, " Petrux » can secure the title at Aragon Race 2 if he finishes ahead Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) by 24 points over the entire round.

Let’s revisit past performances in Aragon…

Alvaro Bautista triumphed in the last two races at Aragon, bringing his total wins on the Spanish circuit to seven.
Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team Motocorsa Racing) took their last WorldSBK victory at Aragon last year.
British pilots Jonathan Rhea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha), who is returning from injury, and Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) have also enjoyed success at this circuit, with six-time WorldSBK champion Rea posting an impressive nine wins.
Toprak Razgatlioglu has yet to win at Aragon in WorldSBK.

Notable performances and records…

Danilo Petrucci joined an elite group of riders by taking a hat-trick at the Italian round, placing himself alongside the world champions Alvaro Bautista, Jonathan Rea and Toprak Razgatlioglu. Incredibly, these were the very first victories of Danilo Petrucci in WorldSBK, which makes his achievement all the more remarkable.

With three consecutive wins under his belt, he is now set to make history: if he wins Race 1 in Aragon, he will become only the second rider to follow up his first WorldSBK victory with three consecutive ones, a feat last achieved by Álvaro Bautista with his record of 11 consecutive victories at the start of 2019.

His next departure will make Xavi Verge (Team HRC) the 71st rider in WorldSBK history to compete in at least 100 races.
