Depending on the results of the first race, there were five manufacturers present on the first two lines with the Honda of Leon Camier ahead of the Yamaha of Alex Lowes and the Kawasaki of Tom Sykes, followed by the Yamaha of Michael van der Mark, the Ducati of Marco Melandri and the Aprilia of Eugene Laverty. The podium for the first round was on the third row, with Chaz Davies, Xavi Fores and Jonathan Rea. Loris Baz started fifteenth.

The best start was to Leon Camier, ahead of Alex Lowes, Michael van der Mark, Marco Melandri and Johnny Rea. The two Yamahas went on the attack and Lowes took the lead ahead of van der Mark, Melandri, Rea, Camier and Laverty. Loris Baz was then fourteenth.

Jonathan Rea, undefeated on this circuit, missed a tight corner and fell from third place to fifth, behind van der Mark, Lowes, Davies and Melandri.

Five drivers remained grouped in the lead with van der Mark, Lowes, Davies, Melandri and Rea. Xavi Fores sixth was at 1.8. Tom Sykes was twelfth and Loris Baz fourteenth.

Eugene Laverty fell, as did Jordi Torres. The Irishman was transported to the medical headquarters (pelvic injury). The Spaniard was declared fit.

Tom Sykes stopped at his pit, where he retired. Chaz Davies took the lead ahead of van der Mark, Lowes, Melandri, Rea, Camier and Razgatlioglu.

Davies retained the lead ahead of the two R1s of van der Mark and Lowes, closely followed by the Panigale of Xavi Fores.

Rea was fifth, 6 seconds behind. It's been a long time since the Kawasakis had been in such poor shape. The second ZX-10R driven by Toprak Razgatlioglu was eighth, 15 seconds behind.

Davies opened a solid gap of 1.7 over van der Mark, 4.1 over Lowes, 5.1 over Fores and 7.5 over Rea. In the final laps, Rea attacked Fores and overtook him for fourth position.

Chaz Davies won over van der Mark, Lowes, Rea, Fores, Camier and Melandri. Baz finished twelfth.
