During the two-day Superbike test in Misano, the Yamaha GMT94 team, led by Philipp Öttl, prepared intensively for the race in mid-June. Christophe Guyot, team leader, shared an overview of their testing program.

Almost all of the 2024 Superbike World Championship teams were present at Misano, with the notable exception of the Italian Motoxracing team with Bradley Ray, who had also missed the tests in Cremona. However, GMT94 was well present with Philipp Öttl in Superbike and Lucas Mahias in Supersport.

For Öttl, Thursday's day was cut short after a fall which seriously damaged his Yamaha R1, thus interrupting his second session. According to speedweek, Christophe Guyot has explained : " we tested modified flexibility of new triple clamps. Although I don't think it will bring us any significant benefit, it was important to try it. The Yamaha chassis is excellent, but we are limited by the engine »

The renewable share in racing gasoline increased to 40% has not been without effect at Yamaha

This season, the regulations of the Superbike World Championship require an increase in the renewable share in racing fuel at 40%, which had an impact on the consumption of Yamaha that holds the top spot. " Compared to last year, we lost around six to seven horses », reports speedweek, but we can also wonder about the responsibility of a new adapted cylinder head. “ We've done eight days of testing so far and we'll spend two days at Magny-Cours in August »

Despite some challenges and incidents, the team Yamaha GMT94 continues to refine its settings and adapt to new technical constraints. The work carried out at Misano is crucial to approach the next races with confidence and competitiveness.
