Danilo Petrucci

Danilo Petrucci is still preparing for a new adventure, constantly demonstrating that there can definitely be another life after MotoGP. Even though he worked hard on his own, he regained his health and notoriety at the Dakar with a KTM, and here he is now leaving for the United States after meeting up with the Ducati family to go do MotoAmerica . An expedition which was very successful for Loris Baz who will be found this season in WSBK on a BMW. And that seems to have given Petrux ideas…

We don't stop anymore Danilo Petrucci ! His career in MotoGP ended ingloriously could have seemed like an endgame, but we have to believe that it was undoubtedly the best thing that happened to him. Because here he is again in the house Ducati after a trip to KTM which allowed him to make history as the first Grand Prix driver to win a selective stage Dakar Rally. The rest will be on a Panigale V4R for an American adventure which he is already enjoying. For him, it's a return to the Superbike paddock as he started racing in Superstock600 and Superstock1000, achieving seven wins, 13 podiums and 12 pole positions in both categories in four seasons.

“Petrux” is now preparing for a new chapter in his career, he will race in the USA MotoAmerica championship for Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati and told the site worldsbk.com : “ I'm really curious. I chose to go to the United States because living there will be an experience of a lifetime. I want to see what life is like on another continent. I was really happy that Ducati made such an effort to reintegrate me into their family. I'm really happy to ride this bike because it's really beautiful. Obviously in the United States the tracks will be different for me. We'll see. We want to win but it won't be easy. We need a lot of testing and support from the factory. I'm happy to be back on the race track! »

SBK, MotoAmerica calls: Petrucci and Ducati race in the United States

Danilo Petrucci: “ the WSBK? It would be fun«

Certainly, but Petrux wouldn't mind having one more experience... Will his name also come back in the Superbike paddock? Petrucci doesn't know, but he's sending this message for all intents and purposes..." maybe this could be an option in case the races are not scheduled on the same weekend. I would be happy to race in WSBK for some races, where I have never raced. I raced in STK600 and STK1000, while in Superbike I was always a Ducati test rider but never took part in a race. I would be curious to participate in a race. It could be very, very funny. But without a doubt, our main target is the United States ". Will the Italian follow the trajectory of the Frenchman? Loris Baz ?

In the meantime, here's what awaits him in America, as reported Maurizio Perlini who will accompany him on this adventure:  » In MotoAmerica we use Dunlops, so we will try to build specific electronics, given that the tires change a lot compared to Pirelli . LDunlop tires actually have a different measurement and profile, plus the carcass is much stiffer. I would also like to remind you that smoothing the asphalt, on tracks like Road Atlanta, is very different from European tracks and therefore special adaptation is necessary. Danilo will therefore have to gain confidence, although I want to be optimistic, since he has been riding with different types of tyres.”

Then there is the question of fuel: “the American championship requires a different fuel and this involves additional operations, given that Ducati data is based on MotoGP data – added Perlini – the question related to the engine therefore becomes a crucial point. In fact, in America and in England with BSB, we have more room for intervention than in the World Championship, but we must consider that the gearbox must remain the standard one, without being able to make any modifications . I think starting so early is the best way to prepare for a new challenge like the one that awaits Danilo” concludes the Italian who was commenting on the tests carried out by Petrux in Portimao.
