He mentions what made him decide to take this step, with Ducati : " I started searching on Google which riders had managed to win at least one race in MotoGP and one in SBK and they are all big names… I said to myself: 'Why can't I be one of them?!'”. And he adds: “ having also won a stage of the Dakar, I could be the only man in the world to have succeeded ". So the objective is clear: “trying to win at least one race is why I’m here in Superbike ».
But he also keeps his feet on the ground. He has enough experience not to underestimate the work still to be accomplished: “ my goal for 2023 is above all to to have fun, because after so many years racing and so many experiences I've had in my career, it's good to be here and I want to enjoy this season. When thinking about my long term goals, winning a race is definitely at the top of my wish list ».
But even that acquired, he will not stop there: “ next, I would like to join a factory team, to see if I can win the title.
