19 rounds, a duo Adrian Huertas (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team) / Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) having torn for pole position, and three Yamaha, Stefano Manzi (Pata Prometeon Ten Kate Racing) / Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) / Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha), in a pocket handkerchief, these were the data seen before the first race of the World Championship World SBK Supersport at Donington.

The story of the race looked interesting when, at the start, Yari Montella took the best of Adrian Huertas, but it only lasted one lap, and once the Ducati official was in the lead, he didn't let go, crossing the finish line with more than four seconds in advance without having been in any way worried.

Behind, a little train Yari Montella / Stefano Manzi / Valentin Debise / Lucas Mahias established itself at the end of the first lap, the first two wagons gradually managing to gain a second lead over the following ones.

This procession was disrupted by the rise of Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) shortly before halfway, which benefited from a drop in pace from the GMT94 driver. The Spaniard took with him Bahattin Sofuoglu (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) and Tom Booth Amos (PTR Triumph), who however received a Long Lap penalty for cutting a corner and not losing a second.

Two laps from the end, Jorge Navarro took the best of Valentin Debise, then in the same turn Stefano Manzi took second place from Yari Montella and managed to resist his counterattacks.

Yesterday, we expected a competitive race at all levels, it was only during the first and last two laps...

In the championship, Adrian Huertas increases its lead to 20 points over Yari Montella, 27 on Stefano manzi.

“It was a very good race. I really appreciated it. We did an incredible job with the team. We made a good choice of tires and I think it was an incredible race. I am happy. The SCX as the rear tire was the right choice. I saw Yari struggle a little bit at the end, but I think for us it was amazing. The team did a perfect job, as always. Today we did an incredible job, but tomorrow we must repeat the feat. This is the key to the championship, so let's focus on tomorrow and try to do the same or better. »
