If you liked the secrecy surrounding the first moments of the cultural and sporting exchange which brought together Valentino Rossi and Lewis Hamilton on the Valencia track on December 9, then you are currently reveling in the leaden screed that Honda has posed on the tests of its new CBR RR-R, intended for the World Superbike. But we will have to come out of the shadows. We learn that next February 21 will be the big day for the presentation of the troops intended for the WSBK...

La CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade 2020 in its WSBK configuration is a well-kept mystery. But Honda promises that it will be the weapon that will restore an image that has been tarnished for ages, because of a category and a segment left fallow for too long. For the moment, everything is confined and the pilots recruited Baptist as haslam kept silent. In Aragón there were tests, but nothing transpired. In Japan, the beast also toured with Bradl on it and Pirelli tires used in WSBK. The matter is therefore serious because, until then, the mistake was to work with Bridgestones available in the Japanese championship of the specialty.

We know that the structure that will take care of the project will be based in Barcelona with the Repsol Honda MotoGP team, under the organizational leadership ofAlberto puig. However, the official presentation will be at Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama on 21th February 2020. This will be a month after the public debut of Baptist and haslam with the new CBR 1000 RR-R in the test that will host the Jerez circuit from 22 janvier. This will be a sort of moment of truth since the opportunity to compare the performance of the new Fireblade with that of its rivals.

A few days later, the WSBK will travel to Portimão to hold a new private test, a scenario in which HRC has also confirmed its presence to continue tuning the motorcycles of Baptist and Leon Haslam.

Subsequently, after this fleeting trip to Tokyo to attend the team presentation on February 21, Team Honda WSBK will go to the first meeting of the season which will host the circuit of Phillip Island from February 28 to March 1.
