Bautista takes stock… What is happening at Honda? In MotoGP, the Marc Marquez tree no longer hides the forest of difficulties of the RC213V which puts its riders on the ground more often than not. In WSBK, the new CBR triple R was this season to display the brand's true ambitions in a strategic category for the market. But there too, it drops a lot with electronic problems which are not likely to give the pilots confidence. The spearhead of the project Alvaro Bautista, still in poor form, takes stock after the Estoril round. And it's not very exciting...

Since Marc Marquez can no longer, by his talent alone, compensate for the faults of the RC213V, it is desolation that reigns at Honda. HRC no longer even has anything to console itself with since the results remain the same both in the Grand Prix and in WSBK : the motorcycle bearing the winged coat of arms is forced to be purely figurative.

We know the situation in MotoGP. For the WSBK, it is Alvaro Bautista who paints the picture… “ I expected more progress. I wasn't able to test many things in winter, but the feeling with the bike wasn't that bad. We have electronics and traction problems ».

He specifies : " we lack stability throughout the race in different conditions. You have to be very precise, otherwise you lose. It's very complicated ". The Spaniard then admits the magnitude of the task that remains to be accomplished: “ we need to improve in all areas. We don't miss much, but a little everywhere ».

Bautista: “le maximum pour le moment est le top 5″

« There's no area where we really need to improve and where we need to improve a lot. This applies more generally. And that makes it very complex to find something that will help us move forward. ". Then Baptist indicates: “ the Japanese engineers are the same as in MotoGP. The two championships are very important for them. I don't think we are bad here because of the fact that they are focusing more on MotoGP. We have good support from HRC. But it's not easy, because they also have problems in MotoGP ».

Baptist finished : " I think our results do not reflect our real potential at the moment. But it wouldn't be more than the top 5. It's the maximum for the moment ».
