Following the death of Dean Berta Viñales occurred this Saturday afternoon, all running was suspended on the Jerez circuit, effectively postponing races 1 of the Superbike and Supersport.

Several meetings were held between the organizers, the drivers and the family of the unfortunate Spanish driver, following which it was decided to resume racing on Sunday in memory of the cousin of Maverick Vinales aged only 15 years old.

 

 

After a minute's silence which all riders will attend at 10:15 a.m., the Superbike and Supersport Superpole Races will be replaced by the events canceled today, starting with the Superbike at 11:00 a.m., then the Supersport at 12:30 p.m.

The afternoon will see a second Superbike race at 14:00 p.m., as well as race 2 of the Supersport 300, but no second Supersport race.

Warm ups will be held at the usual time.

 

Warm-up sessions will take place as scheduled from 09:00 local time (GMT+2), with WorldSBK on track first, followed by WorldSSP and WorldSSP300. Following the wishes of Dean's family, and after sharing their opinions with the drivers, it was decided to continue Sunday's program with a revised timetable.
