After first victory for Scott Redding (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) yesterday in WSBK, which allowed him to take the lead in the championship, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) responded this morning during a sprint race also marked by the abandonment of Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team).

In the general ranking, we observe that the gaps are starting to widen, with Redding 73 dots, Sale 64, Lowes 61, Razgatlioglu 50, van der mark 38, Davies and Baz 37, Baptist 29, haslam 24 and Sykes 21.

Under the watchful eye of Carmelo Ezpeleta, the 23 riders will now compete over 20 laps in this final Superbike clash in Jerez de la Frontera, with 35° in the air and 59° on the asphalt at the time of grid entry.

On this one, Christophe Ponsson has a problem with his old Aprilia RS V4 from the Nuova M2 Racing team and has to leave it.

When the red lights go out, Jonathan Rhea does the holeshot in front of a Scott Redding which must resist a first attack from Michael van der Mark (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team). It gets a little jostled and Loris Baz (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) took the opportunity to take 3rd position.

Scott Redding takes command after one lap while positions are exchanged in the group of 7 drivers who begin to break away: Redding, Rea, Razgatlioglu, Davies, Lowes, Baz and Van der Mark.

Scott Redding quickly manages to take an advantage of just a second over the spearhead of Kawasaki while his teammate moves to 3rd position in order to attempt a first attack on Sale. This takes place at turn 9 on the 5th lap, and we therefore find the two official Ducatis.

Jonathan Rea, 3rd, then suffered an assault from Toprak Razgatlioglu but the Kawasaki rider is ready to do anything to keep his place on the virtual podium.

Loris Baz falls without gravity after having given everything to follow the leading men, a few moments before Takumi Takahashi (MIE Racing Althea Honda Team) does the same.

Razgatlioglu double again Sale on the 7th lap, leaving the latter in the line of sight of his teammate alex lowes.

Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team GoEleven), returning to the front men, gets the better of van der mark for 6th place.

At mid-race, Redding had a 2 second lead over Davies, 5 over Razgatlioglu, 6 over the two Kawasakis and 7 over Rinaldi, who started 12th but was moving back up at high speed.

There were 7 laps left when the Italian managed to get rid of the two Kawasakis and set off in pursuit of Razgatlioglu, more than 3 seconds ahead of him.

alex lowes overtakes his famous teammate 4 laps from the checkered flag, to gain 5th place.

On your mind, Scott Redding crosses the line as winner and once again gets on the podium, like in every race this year...

In the championship, Scott Redding has 98 points, ahead Jonathan Rhea 74, alex lowes 72, Toprak Razgatlioglu 66, Chaz Davies 57 and Michael van der Mark 47.

See you next week in Portimão!
