Lucas Mahias finished his performance at Assen in the gravel trap after being separated from his beautiful Kawasaki Puccetti. A figure which still forced him to miss the rest of the meeting on Sunday, to better accommodate him in surgery. How is he ? Here is the answer…

Lucas Mahias will not keep good memories of the reunion of the WSBK with the plot ofAssen. Indeed, during Race 1, the Frenchman had a bad fall at high speed which caused him to fracture his scaphoid. His fifth round of the season therefore ended early and the operation was necessary. He went through surgery to reduce the fracture in his left hand and is now recovering.

No complications for Lucas Mahias

Everything went in the right direction and this was communicated by his team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing who wrote on social media: “ Lucas had surgery and everything went well now he needs time to recover! He thanks you all for the messages and support and has looking forward to getting back on track ". The next track meeting is scheduled for 6 August, on the Most circuit in the Czech Republic, which is already giving rise to certain comments. But the Frenchman will give everything to immediately get back on the handlebars of his ZX-10RR.

We will recall that Lucas Mahias is a 2017 WorldSSP Champion and vice-Champion in 2018 and 2020. He takes on a new challenge for 2021 in WorldSBK, still under the team's colors Kawasaki Puccetti Racing. French Supersport champion in 2014 with no less than 12 victories on the clock, Mahias also evolved in Spain and Germany. At the same time, he made a name for himself in the World Endurance Championship (EWC). After 13 races this season, he is fourteenth in the championship and he was selected by Kawasaki to be alongside Jonathan Rea like D'alex lowes in view of the next 08:00 from Suzuka.
