The 2020 season looked promising for the team of Lucio Pedercini and his family, with Jordi Tores and Lorenzo Savadori in the Superbike World Championship as riders, as well as Kyle Smith and Ayrton Badovini in Supersport. But the bad news began to pile up, and Pedercini should barely succeed in presenting a Kawasaki for Torres during the first race which will take place in Australia.
No bike from the team is taking part in the Jerez tests these days, after the main sponsor of Team Pedercini was concerned by the Justice. Shortly before Christmas it became known that the Roman Public Prosecutor's Office was investigating the head of the company Global Service Solutions, the main sponsor of Pedercini Kawasaki. Pedercini had nothing to do with this legal imbroglio, other than a huge hole in his 2020 budget. Lorenzo Savadori viewed his future uncertainly, while the Supersport team disappeared due to lack of subsidies. Even in the SSP 300 World Championship, it was the end of the cooperation with David Salom's team.
Fortunately Lucio Pedercini reassured by explaining that during the European tests in Jerez and Portimão, the Italian team would be absent, but that at Phillip Island, it would participate in the final preparation test and the race weekend.
The team released the following official press release: “The season will start for us in Australia on February 28, but we will first be able to do two days of testing at the Phillip Island circuit on February 24 and 25 to make up for lost time. »
“We evaluate with a team of experienced professionals all the organizational details and the level of the team. I can say that I am confident for 2020, both in terms of organization and competitiveness of the team, which will return to wear the green-black livery typical of Kawasaki teams. »

“As soon as we have defined the last details, we will announce the formation and the new sponsors who will accompany the Pedercini Racing team in the next championship which will begin in 2020 with the acronym TPR Team Pedercini Racing. »
