Loris Baz intends to properly celebrate his return to World Superbike this season, after a break on a Ducati in MotoAmerica. The Frenchman also returns to a BMW fold that he had known in 2018. Even if the off-season tests with the M1000RR revealed a manufacturer behind in its preparation due to late suppliers, the one who was a MotoGP rider of 2015 to 2018 intends to play something other than extras in this season which promises to be as open as in the Grand Prix...
Loris Baz finds a WSBK who revealed it and notably in 2012 when he took on the lighting costume of an official Kawasaki. In this category, he has also experienced BMW, Yamaha and Ducati, and it is with the Bavarian brand that he will compete this year. This winter he discovered his M1000RR, and even if the competition promises to be tough, the Frenchman believes in the potential of his German: “ I can't start the season without thinking about the podium. Loris Baz will wear the team colors BMW Bonovo which is promised to be the equal of the British SMR team. BMW has abolished the distinction between factory and satellite teams, and all four drivers are contracted directly to the factory. It will be recalled that Loris Baz, at 29 years old, can boast an interesting record in WSBK. He realised 20 podiums with Kawasaki (14), Yamaha (4) and Ducati (2), including two race victories with Kawasaki. He will have as a teammate Eugene Laverty. The season will open from April 8 next in Aragon.
