Loris Baz

Loris Baz is back in WSBK, but also at BMW, a brand he served in the category in 2018. He had to be a replacement at the end of the season on a Ducati in place of the injured Chaz Davies for that the world remembers him and brings him back to his paddock. The Frenchman does not regret his escapade in MotoAmerica. It's quite the opposite. He immediately made a new family there which he now leaves to Danilo Petrucci. With a Eugène Laverty that he appreciates but with a body shape radically opposite to his own, he will give his all on an M1000RR where there is a lot to do within the MGM team which is not unknown either...

Indeed, he already wore these colors in 2011, and in view of the above, we end up realizing that Loris Baz, born in 1993, can already boast of a great experience. This will be used to optimize this BMW, while its other brand companions will be Scott Redding et Michael Van der Mark. Suffice it to say, sizes…

"JI come back with BMW, which I left in 2018, but now it is with the support of the factory which has great expectations for the future with a motorcycle to win this championship » comments the Frenchman on Motosan. " MGM is a team that I know, because I did a few races with them in 2011. We have always been in contact and I think we have a very strong team. The first tests went very well, these tests are always important to know people, to see how they work, and it went very well ».

However : " motorcycling is very different from anything I have experienced in my life and there is a lot of work to do to achieve what we want. But I also feel potential in this bike, and if I work well, I think good things can be done. At the moment I don't think it's a machine to win today, but we haven't tested all the new features for 2022 either. There is potential ».

Loris Baz: “ the BMW is a motorcycle that has potential, that you have to ride in a different way«

Loris Baz elaborates on its emerging relationship with the M1000RR: “ the sensations were very different. The truth is that the last time I got on a bike, 3 months ago, was with Chaz Davies' official Ducati and it's very different. It's a different style of motorcycle, another engine design, electronics that work in a different way... It's a motorcycle that has potential, that you have to ride in a different way, but I have also tried to adapt to it and at the same time to give all my feelings of what needed to be done to approach it with another philosophy ».

He finishes : " I tried to adapt it a little but also to adapt to the bike. It had to be done, I have changed bikes several times in my life, but this time you have to give a lot of feeling and feedback to the team to see what needs to be improved on this bike ". A long-term job but which will give a lot of satisfaction when it bears fruit. Scott Redding, he too, came down from a Ducati to climb on the BMW, van der mark et Eugene Laverty on the other hand, have good experience with the M1000RR.
