Luigi Dall'Igna and the Ducati team have been waiting for the Superbike World Champion title last year, ever since Carlos Checa last won the crown for the Reds in 2011.

In 2019, Ducati put in a brilliant performance with the then all-new Panigale V4 R, with Álvaro Bautista winning the first eleven races and 16 in total. But an unprecedented series of setbacks deprived the Spaniard and the Bologna manufacturer of the chances of winning the title

Luigi Dall'Igna has taken matters into his own hands and he has high hopes for 2020:

“Over the past few months we have been working on the development of the Panigale V4 R. Despite the excellent competitiveness of our bike last year, we are convinced that 2020 will be even more competitive thanks to the new models of our main rivals. »

“We have only one goal: To win the Superbike World Champion title. »

“It is important for us to know our bike now because last year everything was new for us. »

“This is very important in the World Superbike Championship because you have very little time to work on the settings, from the first free practice session to the race. Any change must be there. »

“We have improved aerodynamics, one of Ducati's strengths from our innovation team. In the meantime, we have also reached the minimum weight requirement, last year our motorcycle was too heavy. »

“On the engine, we have modified certain details, the torque and power curves are now slightly different. The swingarm and the entire rear part are new. In the end, there are many changes, which were approved by the drivers during the first tests. »
