FOCUS ON THE SUPERPOLE RACE

(asphalt: 29°C / air: 20°C)

In the Superpole race, drivers chose several tire combinations. Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK), Toprak Razgatlioğlu (Pata Yamaha with Brixx WorldSBK) and Garrett Gerloff (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team), respectively first, second and fifth on the starting grid, opted for the new solutions provided by Pirelli , namely the SCX B0800 at the rear and the SC1 B0570 at the front. Scott Redding (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) and Álvaro Bautista (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati), meanwhile, preferred the standard rear SCX and the front SC1 A0674. In general, almost all riders used an SCX at the rear, with the exception of Honda riders the SCQ solution. The Yamaha rider, reigning world champion, won the race ahead of the winner of race 1 (Bautista) and Jonathan Rea, third on the podium.

TIRES IN ACTION IN RACE 2

World SBK (asphalt: 39°C / air: 23°C)

As for the tires used in Race 2, the new rear solution provided by Pirelli garnered even more preference: The SCX B0800 development tire was chosen by an impressive 21 of the 24 drivers on the starting grid. At the front, on the other hand, over a distance of 21 laps, the SC1 A0674 tire, already well known to the drivers, won over the new SC1 B0570. The winner of the race, Toprak Razgatlioğlu, decided to trust the standard SC1 for the front. Behind the Turkish rider, Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) finished in an important second place, his third podium of the year, ahead of Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing) who, with this third place, proved once again more than he was the best of the private team drivers.

WorldSSP (asphalt: 34° C / air: 22° C)

In race 2, reigning world champion Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) returned to victory after the unfortunate event in Most. The Swiss rider, who now has ten victories to his name this year, finished ahead of local hero Jules Cluzel (GMT94 Yamaha) and Italian Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team), who took the podium for the eighth time this season. When it comes to tires, almost all riders used the SC1 on the front and the SCX on the rear. The only ones using the standard SC0 at the rear were pole sitter Federico Caricasulo (Althea Racing) and Stefano Manzi (Dynavolt Triumph).

WorldSSP300 (asphalt: 37°C / air: 23°C)

Victory in the second WorldSSP300 race went to Victor Steeman (MTM Kawasaki) who took his third victory of the season ahead of Alvaro Diaz (Arco Motor University Team) in second and Dirk Geiger (Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki), third.

George Barbier, Motorcycle Competition Director: “ We can consider ourselves satisfied with the way the tires behaved throughout the weekend. The weather in Magny-Cours is always unpredictable and this year was no exception, especially on Friday. Despite little opportunity to test them before the races due to the rain, the new solutions were quite popular with the drivers from Saturday onwards and today they were chosen by the majority of drivers on the grid. Specifically, Razgatlioğlu used them in both the Superpole race and Race 2, winning a double. This is an important sign for us. This means that the drivers trust Pirelli and the development work we do and we thank them for it, by continuing to provide them with increasingly high performance tires that allow them to lower lap times year after year on the circuits where we race. »
