The Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit will appear on the SBK® calendar until 2024 thanks to a new contract extension.
On the occasion of the eighth meeting of the 2021 calendar of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, it was announced that the tricolor circuit and Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO) have reached an agreement to maintain the Round of France at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours until 2024.
France enjoys a great history in WorldSBK with two World Champions, Raymond Roche in 1990 and Sylvain Guintoli in 2014, while Sébastien Charpentier, Stéphane Chambon, Fabien Foret and Lucas Mahias, who now races in WorldSBK, have all topped the crown in WorldSSP. French teams are also involved with GMT94 Yamaha in WorldSSP and Leader Team Flembbo in WorldSSP300.
The French circuit has hosted 40 WorldSBK races, the first dating back to 1991, and has been on the Championship calendar since 2003. Over the years, the track has become an emblematic meeting during which many titles have been decided. The 2021 edition will mark 30 years since WorldSBK's first visit to this iconic circuit, making this contract extension a great celebration of this long and fruitful partnership. The French round has always provided exciting racing for the thousands of WorldSBK fans who attend. This event has become one of the pillars of the calendar and a spectacular showcase for all participants.
