On the first day of the last test session, before the first race which will take place this weekend at Phillip Island, Marco Melandri won on his Ducati ahead of the two Kawasakis of Tom Sykes and Johnny Rea . Loris Baz on his BMW finished in eleventh position. In Supersport, Lucas Mahias (Yamaha) was the fastest while Jules Cluzel and Mike di Meglio (also on R6) were sixth and twelfth.

The first morning test session took place in fairly difficult conditions due to a fairly violent wind. The reigning World Champion Johnny Rea fell without gravity in turn 11, just like Jordi Torres in turn 2.

Marco Melandri finished the day in first position on his Panigale, while his teammate Chaz Davies struggled a little in tenth place. Johnny Rea and his teammate Tom Sykes placed their Kawasakis in second and third positions. Leon Camier achieved a good fourth time on his Honda, ahead of the Yamaha of Michael van der Mark and the Panigale of Xavi Fores. Loris Baz continued to improve the settings of his BMW Althea which he had started to perfect during the Portimao tests. He had two S 1000 RRs made available to him by Genesio Bevilacqua.
