Toprak Razgatlioglu

Toprak Razgatlioglu was the unfortunate hero, to say the least, of Race 2 in Most, during which he led a merciless fight with his Yamaha against Alvaro Bautista who was beginning to understand that he would not be able to overcome it, even with his Ducati. And then the Turk found himself on the ground at a moment when things seemed to be definitely going in his favor. The driver's fault was quickly ruled out, then the Yamaha electronics were exonerated. So we looked at the case of the rear tire, and indeed...

A diagnosis that was made quite quickly Toprak Razgatlioglu, noting that his rear tire was blistering more and more as the showdown with Baptist was moving forward. A situation which led to the puncture. Then to this photo posted on his social network with this comment: “ I did my best today but my rear tire blew and that put me out of the race. I was really surprised but we will continue to fight. We will always fight for more. First of all thank you very much to @patayamahaprometeon and you dear fans 🥰 ».

The cliché obviously did not go unnoticed by the only manufacturer in the category who, through the voice of George Barbier, director of Pirelli Moto Racing, commented on GP One : " in WorldSBK Race 2, with the new rear specification C0567, we recorded three cases of blistering with Rea, Gardner and Razgatlioglu. For the first two, the blisters were very small and did not affect the performance and the result of the race, while in the case of Razgatlioglu the tire had two more marked blisters and telemetry data showed sudden tire deflation ».

« It is clear that episodes of this type with Toprak Razgatlioglu must not happen »

He adds : " Even though the Yamaha rider's race paces were extremely high and all the other riders' tires showed no signs of stress or wear, it is clear that episodes of this type should not occur. We will therefore take care of analyzing the three tires which had blisters in the laboratory. to understand what could have triggered them ».

The manager Pirelli also take the opportunity to make this clarification: “ to clarify a point that has caused some confusion among fans: intermediate tires, as well as wet or slick tires, are available to all drivers and teams equally. In Race 1, by choice, some teams did not ask to mount them on the rims or simply mounted them in the box and did not bring them to the grid, and that is why they did not use them. It's not because Pirelli didn't make them available to them ».
