The feast of WSBK in Portimao, which marked the epilogue of the WSS300 category, took a dramatic turn in the race of this discipline where the drivers fight like ragpickers in a melee tackled with fairly heavy machines. In such a context, the slightest fall can turn into a tragedy and this is what we fear in Portugal since the clash between Perez Gonzalez and Victor Steeman. It is the state of health of the latter which is most worrying.

The image was fleeting, but impressive enough to understand that this fall was not insignificant in this race. WSS300 which was then logically stopped at the red flag. Perez Gonzalez et Victor Steeman had just collided and according to initial information, the last rider was hit twice on the helmet by the motorcycle.

After first aid provided on site, Victor Steeman was airlifted to the hospital. Further news is now awaited but conditions are assessed as alarming. Victor Steeman was taken to Faro hospital with polytrauma and a head injury.
