This season, Jonathan Rea came up against a tough guy in the fight for the world title. It is not Scott Redding, but rather the Yamaha rider Toprak Razgatlioglu, who returned strengthened from this expedition on the new track of Most in the Czech Republic. Unlike the Northern Irishman on the Kawasaki who collected two third places and one retirement. That being said, he comes close to Scott Redding's opinion on this circuit, expressing more than just reservations about its safety...

Le WSBK has included a meeting in the Czech Republic in its calendar. A stage which was an opportunity in the world before to enjoy the route of Brno. But this time, we were entitled to Must. Autodrom Most was built between 1978 and 1983 and is located on the site of the former Vrbensky open-cast lignite mine. Its length is 4,219 km, the track is between 12 and 14 meters wide and has 21 turns, 9 on the left and 12 on the right. No other race track on the World Superbike calendar has so many corners.

Scott Redding made no secret of the fact that this route posed security problems. During the meeting, the drivers talked about it, but quite discreetly. Before embarking on this weekend's round of Navarra, Jonathan Rhea took up the subject to better develop it… He says thus on speedweek : " turn 13 needs a completely new layout, but so do turns 18 and 19 ».

World Champion Jonathan Rea

Rea: “It’s really terrifying but the course is nice”

The six-time titleholder adds: “ the new asphalt in Most was ok, but very corrugated. Many areas need revision. For example, turn 15 is very bad, but so are the last two corners. Old asphalt is a disaster, we have to do it again. If there were still double borders in certain places, the route would be correct »

Sale crashed at Most in turns 1 and 20. However, the driver of 34 years had more fear for turn 15. “ It's really terrifying because the track is very close to the limit there “, underlined the Kawasaki rider. “ You can drop there very quickly, but there is no room for a larger gravel bed. There, you would have to change the configuration. But the route is nice! There were also a lot of fans and the whole atmosphere was relaxed ". Even in a good atmosphere, it seems that there will still be food for thought between now and the return to the venue in 2022.
