Scott Redding

Scott Redding made a remarkable comeback in the first tests of the WorldSBK season. The British rider, back at the controls of a Ducati Panigale V4 R, finished third on his first day at Jerez, demonstrating a quick and effective adaptation. But this return to the Ducati is not just about performance. It is also about passion and conviction…

On the first day of WorldSBK testing in Jerez, Scott Redding impressed with a solid performance, finishing third on the Ducati Panigale V4 R for the team MGM Bonovo RacingIt was a significant return for the Briton, who regained the Ducati after several years and approached this first day of testing with great motivation.

Redding, who had not ridden the bike for some time, expressed satisfaction with its performance. My goal was to try to finish first on my first day… it was a bit ambitious, but you have to aim high!" , said Redding, adding that he had encountered some difficulties, including a yellow flag on his best lap which cost him time. However, despite this inconvenience, he managed to place in the top three, which was particularly satisfying considering that some of the drivers had already completed several days of testing before him.

Scott Redding: “ Coming back on this bike after three years, I have to enjoy it 100% and understand that it's the best thing for me »

« But once I found my rhythm and was able to relax a little bit, I was able to evolve." he explained, specifying that his best lap was set on an SCQ tyre, followed by a solid 1'40 on a racing tyre, which shows that he has found a good base for his future performances.

Redding also shared his thoughts on his return to the Ducati Panigale V4 R., a bike he knows well after racing with it Ducati in the past. After three years I thought that if I could get back on this bike I should enjoy it 100% and understand that it is the best thing for me" he confided. This return to the Ducati has not been without challenges, but Redding explained that his main motivation was to prove his worth in this team and to ensure that the following year he would not have to pay to compete.

» That's what gave me the motivation to take the risk of stay in this team with a Ducati, even though they don't pay me and I have a family to support. I have to prove that next year, I won't pay to run again. They have to pay me, that's how it should work." , added Redding, referring to the financial pressure that often accompanies some drivers in satellite teams, but also to his desire to continue to progress at the highest level of World SBK.

Although Scott Redding did not achieve his goal of finishing first in these tests, his performance on the Ducati and his return to the Panigale look promising. With a strong motivation for the year ahead and solid results from day one, he could well be a serious contender for the 2025 season.
