After leaving the Grands Prix and Aprilia at the end of last year for the British Superbike with Ducati with Paul Bird, replacing the injured Shane Byrne, Scott Redding will discover the Superbike World Championship next year within the official Ducati Aruba.it Racing team. He currently occupies second place in the provisional BSB standings with 259 points, behind his Be Wiser Ducati teammate Josh Brookes who has 271.

Born 26 years ago in Quedgeley (Gloucestershire), Redding has won six victories so far this season. He therefore knows the Ducati Panigale V4 R very well, even if the technical regulations of the BSB are different from those of the WSBK, mainly in terms of electronics. His teammate next year within the official Ducati team will be Chaz Davies.

Scott signing was imminent, and it is now official. Alvaro Bautista as for him, he will join the Honda team, where Leon Camier is not sure of keeping his place.

According to Scott Redding, “I am very happy to join the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team, something I have wanted for a long time, because being able to work with a structure that has the means to fight for a world title is a great opportunity for me. It is quite obvious that I now have to concentrate fully on the British Superbike Championship, because I want to try to win this title with the Be Wiser Ducati before returning to the world stage. A big thank you to everyone who made this dream come true, and now I can't wait to get on the factory Panigale V4 R in the WorldSBK Championship. »

For the Aruba.it Racing-Ducati team manager Stefano Cecconi, who are " It is with great pleasure that we welcome Scott to our team. Although he was a BSB beginner, in his first experience with the Panigale V4 R and with many tracks he had never seen before, Scott proved to be fast from the start of the season and capable to aim directly for the title. »

“For this reason, we are following him with interest and have been impressed by his form even before having to look for a teammate for Chaz for the next few seasons. With his determination and experience, I am confident he will be fast from the start, even on a WSBK-compliant bike. »

“I want to say goodbye to Álvaro and thank him for the incredible emotions he gave us this year. He will surely be a difficult opponent to beat! Now, however, we must focus on the current season: we no longer have an advantage, but the battle for the world title is still open and we are fully committed to carrying out our collaboration. »

After starting competition in 2001 at age 8, Redding won the 2004 FAB-Racing Metrakit 2004cc British MiniGP championship in 50. In 2007 he finished second in the Spanish 125 Championship behind Stefan Bradl.

On June 22, 2008, he became the youngest winner in the history of Grands Prix by winning at home in Donington in the 125 aged 15 years and 170 days.

He raced 33 GPs in 125 and won 1 on an Aprilia RSA125 from the Blusens Aprilia Junior team, then 66 in Moto2 with 3 victories for the Marc VDS Racing Team, and finally 90 in MotoGP with two podiums, at Misano in 2015 on a Honda from the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS team and in Assen in 2016 on a Ducati from the Octo Pramac Yakhnich team.
