Today at Laguna Seca, the Triple M Honda team and Patrick “PJ” Jacobsen unveiled a very special decoration to pay tribute to Nicky Hayden, the American MotoGP champion who died last year in a cycling accident in Misano.
This is the first season in Superbike for PJ Jacobsen and the latter wanted to celebrate his home round with a spectacular design that includes not only the Honda CBR 1000 RR SP2, but also the leather and helmet of the rookie Yankee.
A very urban design was chosen, in which black and white predominate to form the number 69 of Nicky Hayden as well as the Star-Spangled Banner of the United States.
“It's exciting to race in front of my home fans and honor Nicky with a special design of my bike, leather and helmet. The team is very excited to get started”
Jordi Torres also paid tribute to the late American pilot with a special decoration of his helmet.
