As soon as the WSBK championship resumed in Jerez, the 2R Racing team became known, and at the same time excluded from the Supersport 300 championship, for having violated the precise and detailed protocol that all the teams had signed before the restart of the season.

In this specific case, Roberto Antonellini's Italian team had consciously organized a buffet making social distancing impossible.

Although no official press release has been issued regarding this violation, Gregorio lavilla , the general director of WorldSBK, then indicated the exclusion of the Ravenna structure from the championship, the team's drivers, the Spaniard Victor Rodriguez Nuñez and the Italian Alessandro Zanca, having the right to continue the championship in another team.

Then, without really knowing why or how, the team was accepted for the last two weekends in Aragón, after skipping Portimão on August 9. She lined up with only one pilot, Victor Rodriguez Nuñez.

Unfortunately for the latter, following a complaint from the team of Bahattin Sofuoglu, Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha WorldSSP300, on another topic, it turned out that the intake tract on his Kawasaki had been modified. This resulted in disqualification for the two events concerned, i.e. the four races in Aragón and in particular a “very spectacular” victory during Race 1 last weekend, where the Ninja 400 simply started last!

From 10th in the championship, the unfortunate Spaniard (who obviously has nothing to do with it) thus leaves the ranking.

As for the team concerned, the least we can say is that they are not really building a good image...
