Axel Bassani and Danilo Petrucci have the same manager: Alberto Vergani. Is the situation already defined for next season?

Nothing new under the sun for Axel Bassani and Danilo Petrucci. There has been a lot of talk about it in recent months, but it appears that they will ultimately remain with their current Superbike teams, barring any sudden upheavals from a market still in turmoil. Danilo rode the Ducati in MotoGP at Le Mans and is in love with it, but dreams are one thing and reality is another. Axel has long aspired to an official team, but he is unlikely to achieve it in 2024.

« I don't foresee any sensational changes “, Alberto Vergani told Corsedimoto. “ I don't have a crystal ball, but at the moment I don't have any ongoing negotiations regarding Axel. Ducati – Aruba doesn't want him, but simply because they don't need him. They have Álvaro Bautista dominating and the team has its own balance, I can't blame them. We will probably continue with Motocorsa. Lorenzo Mauri is a wonderful person, a super enthusiast who puts his heart above obstacles. We certainly won't change to another private team. Alex would only leave Motocorsa to race for a manufacturer, but for the moment there is nothing concrete. »

Will Danilo Petrucci stay at Barni?
« Danilo tried the Ducati MotoGP and liked it a lot, but I think it will remain a dream. It's likely that a bike will become available within the Gresini team, but it's the most coveted one in the paddock, there's a queue of people wanting to go because the team is great and the bike is top notch. I think he has a 1% chance of racing in MotoGP. It is almost certain that he will stay in Superbike, probably with Barni, whom I thank again. The bike is good, we have to work on it but I think we are not far away, and that we can get results in two years. »

Alberto Vergani, you also follow Lorenzo Savadori. What will he do in 2024?
« He would like to be a full-time rider, but I think he will continue to be a test rider, still with Aprilia, hoping to make as many wildcards as possible in MotoGP. »
