By winning the first race Superbike 18 laps on Motorland, Toprak Razgatlioglu finally conquers Aragon, even though less than a second separated the three drivers from the podium.
During a thrilling race, Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) thus won for the first time on the Spanish track, something that has not yet been done Nicholas Bulega.
Race 1 Highlights

Starting from pole position, Nicholas Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) took the lead in the first corner before contact with Toprak Razgatlioglu did not allow the Turkish driver to take the lead. The BMW driver was solid in the first half of the lap, but very vulnerable in the final sector. Bulega's speed in the final corners allowed him to attack several times to regain the lead under braking for Turn 1. Lap after lap, the two men traded blows, until the finish line where the gap was only 0''030.
Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team), who started fourth, moved into the top three in the first laps and never left third place. The Briton remained on the lookout without finding a breakthrough, but secured another podium finish. The three leading riders were using a harder front tire and set their best times at the very end of the race.
Two-thirds of the way through the test, Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) fell in turn 15 while trying to get back on Danilo PetrucciThe Barni Spark Racing Team rider then continued solo to finish fourth, two seconds ahead of Alex Lowes (Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team). This is already the eighth time this season that Petrucci has finished in this position.
During the first half of the race, the fight in the top 7 was intense with Bautista, Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) and Andrea Iannone (Team Pata Go Eleven) in the wake of Lowes.

Pilot reactions
P1 – Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team): “I’m really happy because I’ve never won here before. Now I have my first victory at Aragón. It was a tough race because Ducati had a big advantage in the last corner and on the straight, but I attacked every lap. We still need to improve in some corners because the bike is not yet at 100%, but my team is working very hard. Tomorrow we have two more races and I will stay calm to win again.”
P2 – Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati): “Congratulations to Toprak and BMW. I pushed very hard and we stayed very close throughout the race. Sometimes I was faster, sometimes he was. For tomorrow, I need to improve my throttle management in the first few meters out of corners. If we sort that out, I hope to be stronger and fight again.”
P3 – Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team): “I managed to stay in the game because the pace was quite high at the end. In the middle of the race, we all took it easy. I'm very happy with my pace, even though I didn't have enough to attack the top two. Riding with them allowed me to learn a lot. This was my position all weekend, so I'm proud of the team and everyone involved. A big thank you also to Mark, who was there this weekend: it's nice to give him this result.”
