The second day of Superbike testing has concluded in Barcelona. A hot finale and not lacking in twists and turns: Razgatlıoğlu is positive for Covid-19!

Le Superbike closes the two days of testing at Barcelona with another hot session… And other mysteries. After the case Eugene Laverty, Alvaro Bautista et Toprak Razgatlıoğlu hardly drove at all today. The Spaniard waved the white flag after a few laps due to an injury he admitted yesterday, and the Turk for his part only completed two runs before concluding his tests. For Toprak, the cold shower has arrived in the afternoon : He is positive for Covid-19 after a test done this morning!

For the other teams, however, the work continued unabated and, as was the case on the first day, the times fell towards the end. Jonathan Rhea made everyone agree by improving his time from yesterday thanks to a great last lap in the last five minutes! The new Ninja  sends an important signal in what was the first real confrontation with his adversariesThe top speed data is impressive, an area where Kawasaki worked a lot: Sale is in fact almost in line with Ducati !

Rea dictates his law, but the fight is close!

Beautiful ending also for Scott Redding : The Briton gets within reach of the world champion. 1'40.443 the pilot's time Ducati, 1'40.264 that of the centaur Kawasaki. We then find Garrett Gerloff, 3rd two tenths behind. The American tried to finish in the lead this last day of testing by putting himself a little ahead of everyone before the end, but there was nothing to do.

Behind them Jonas Folger, which brings the BMW at high levels and prints an excellent 1'40.699. The new M1000RR seems to be very well born in view of these two days of testing and the German's time only confirms this impression. Then there is Rinaldi, the last pilot with Tom Sykes below the 1'41 mark. Behind them, Alex Lowes, first above this threshold. Number 22 of  Kawasaki finished almost a second behind his teammate.

Locatelli and Rabat, how many laps!

Andrea Locatelli, who has covered a lot of kilometers on his R1, remains less than a second behind. Chaz Davies concludes his debut with Go Eleven in 9th position, one second behind Salethen haslam 10th significantly further after the second best performance on the first day. Nozane et bassani follow, before finding Tito Rabat 13th with many laps completed on the Ducati of the team Barni.

The (complicated) learning of Van Der Mark on the BMW continues: The Dutchman is 14th with a fall at the end causing a red flag (motorcycle in pieces, driver OK) in front Razgatlıoğlu (who we remind did not do many tours due to a positive PCR test). Then there is Casa Particular in Viñales et Ponssonthen Baptist (KO after injury with very few rounds under his belt), Tati Market et Samuele Cavalieri who are further behind.

Here are the times from the second day of testing.
