WSBK Superbike Cremona Superpole: Bulega unleashed, sixth pole and the record!

For a long time, it was believed that Sam Lowes would pull off a feat during the Superbike Superpole in Cremona, until the arrival of Nicolo Bulega!

The Ducati rider Nicholas Bulega snatches the Superpole, the best starting position, but his rival Toprak Razgatlioglu will also be on the front line of the Superbikes in Cremona. The first challenge is at 14 p.m.

Nicholas Bulega raises the bar for Superbike racing to new heights. In Cremona, he devoured Superpole, taking his sixth career qualifying victory and second of the year. The previous one, at Phillip Island, was the start of a fairytale weekend, with three wins from three races.

The trend could be the same here, even if its rival Toprak Razgatlioglu got the first row (third place) and keeps the BMW on track. "With the heat, it will be very difficult for me.", said the reigning champion, raising his hands. Nicholas Bulega, on the other hand, is not afraid of the heat, he just hopes that the Panigale does not play tricks on him: the two retirements at Assen, caused by a defective sensor, weigh very heavily.

Second line in turmoil
After the three falls on Friday, Álvaro Bautista straightens the bar: fourth time and a second row which also welcomes the Honda of Xavi Virgo and, above all, a Andrea Iannone in full comeback. Bulega seems out of reach for anyone, but for the podium, the competition will be fierce.

Sadly, Danilo Petrucci will start with a handicap, since due to a series of misunderstandings with other drivers, he will be forced to start from the fifth row. We are talking about the driver who won three out of three here last September: it would be a miracle to repeat the feat.

Rubber management decided, solutions available
The particularity of the track, short and winding, and the temperature conditions (asphalt expected around 50°C) are the main factors to be taken into consideration in view of the long race (start at 14 p.m.). Pirelli is proposing here the E0126 development solution, that is that is, a soft compound but with a more robust construction than the standard SCX. The new tire proved to be a great success at the previous round in Assen, so it is likely that all the protagonists will confirm this choice. The third typology available is the more conservative SC0. Let us recall that during the first edition of the Superbike World Championship in Cremona, last September, Danilo Petrucci to fill up. On this occasion, Ducati took eight of the nine podium places, the only "intruder" being Alex Lowes, then on Kawasaki.
