Quickly from the outset to Australia for his first weekend in Superbike despite the escapades of his teammate who was a little too impetuous, Dominique Aegerter (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) had a slightly more difficult first day in Indonesia.

6th at the end of the first day at Phillip Island, the Swiss driver only appeared in 12th position at the end of Friday at Mandalika, on the island of Lombok. Like all his opponents, he had to face a tricky first free practice session due to a dusty, dirty track without much rubber. During this 45 minute session, Dominique Aegerter ranked 14th (in 1'36.511), 1,898s behind the leader Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and 1,3s from his teammate Remy gardner.

During free practice 2 in the afternoon, the track offering more grip, the number 77 was 2,8s faster, snatching the 12th time (1'33.837) although he did not try to take a quick tour.

The native of Rohrbach should logically regain his place in the Top 10 tomorrow...

Dominique Aegerter : " As usual it's very hot here, and in the morning the track wasn't very grippy, but it was the same for everyone and it was difficult to set up the bike and make tire choices . In the afternoon we made a few small changes and I had a good first run: we weren't too far from the other guys. In the last part of the second session we tried something that didn't work, so I couldn't make a time and improve my time. That's why the position doesn't look very good, but our pace is definitely better than 12th place. We will try to have a good qualifying session tomorrow, because starting from a good position makes a big difference in the race, as we saw in Australia. This is why I absolutely have to have a good starting position to be in the first group. I guess Bautista will always be the fastest driver. Behind them, Toprak and Rea are still at the forefront, and Rinaldi now seems to be too. Behind that, and up to 14th place, there is a large, very tight group. »
