A victory each for Toprak Razgatlioğlu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK) and Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) during the second day of racing at the Indonesian Mandalika circuit.

The Turkish driver won the morning's Superpole race, while in Race 2 the Spaniard repeated his performance from Race 1, securing his fifth victory in the six races contested so far. A historic success in WorldSSP for Federico Caricasulo and the Althea team. All the solutions provided by Pirelli have been widely used by pilots.

« Today's races largely confirmed that the compounds we decided to make available to riders for this round all proved to be equally valid and very versatile options. Up front, drivers used both the standard SC1 and SC2, winning and finishing on the podium with both solutions. The same can be said for the rear. The standard SC0 and the SCX B0800 development solution were still in play and even the drivers who were amazed on Saturday by how Bautista managed to win with the super soft rear managed to use the same compound today. This clearly demonstrates that there is no tire that performs better on one motorcycle than another, but that it is the configuration of the vehicle and the riding skills of each rider as well as their ability to handle the tires that matter. Congratulations to all of today's race winners and to Xavi Virgo for his outstanding performance on Honda, progressing throughout the weekend and taking the podium in Race 2. »

  • After starting from pole position, Toprak Razgatlioğlu (Pata Yamaha Prometeon WorldSBK) won the Superpole Race over the distance of 8 laps after a red flag using a standard SC2 front tire and a rear SCX-A (B0800). The latter had already been used by Alvaro Bautista (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) to win Race 1 yesterday. The same tires were chosen by the drivers finishing behind the Turk: In order, his teammate Andrea Locatelli and Kawasaki riders alex lowes et Jonathan Rhea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK).
  • Compared to Race 1, where the SCX-A (B0800) was used exclusively by the two Ducati factory riders, in the Superpole race the majority of riders on the grid chose this solution. Alvaro Bautista et Michael Ruben Rinaldi, on the other hand, opted for the standard SC0, once again making an unconventional choice.

  • In the of course 2, standard SC2 hard remained the most used option up front. At the rear, on the other hand, driver preferences were evenly divided between the standard SC0 and the SCX-A (specification B0800). After the race was stopped due to an accident, there were 14 laps to go in the second start and some drivers who had initially put the SC0 rear decided to switch and bet on the SCX-A (B0800) . Among them, Andrea Locatelli, Garrett gerloff et Axel Bassani, While Alvaro Bautista went from SCX-A to SC0.
  • The race was hotly contested and was won by Alvaro Bautista (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) who, starting from tenth place on the starting grid and using SC0 tires at the rear and SC1 at the front, quickly climbed the ranks to take the lead of the race and the first step of the podium. Behind him, Toprak Razgatlioğlu, winner of the Superpole Race, used SC2 tires at the front and SC0 at the rear, and Xavi Verge (Team HRC) opted for SC1 tires at the front and SCX-A at the rear.

The drivers' tire choices were almost unanimous for Race 2 given the track conditions: all standard, SC2 front and SC0 rear. The only exception was Andrea Mantovani (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) who preferred to use the standard SCX on the rear.

The Turkish pilot Can Öncü (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) seemed well on his way to victory after yesterday's victory in Race 1, but in the final laps he lost ground and was overtaken by Stefano manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha), Federico Caricasulo (Althea Racing Team) and the pole sitter Nicholas Bulega (Aruba Racing WorldSSP Team). The positions seemed acquired but on the last lap, Caricasulo and his Ducati took over Manzi, thus returning to victory in WorldSSP. His last victory was in Portimão in 2019. Fourth place went to Can Öncü and Stefano Manzi set a new race record on the fifth lap with a time of 1'35.416.
