Less than 10 days before the next round of 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship which will take place on March 14 and 15 at the Barcelona – Catalunya circuit, the KRT drivers alex lowes et Axel Bassani will participate in a two-day Supported Test session. These sessions will help the team fully prepare for the second round of the championship, which will take place at the same venue a week after the end of the tests.

After the spectacular opening round at Phillip Island in Australia, during which alex lowes and KRT have achieved two remarkable victories, the whole team looks towards a sustained test on what is its real playground, the 4,657 km long Barcelona – Catalonia circuit, also known as Montmeló, being located just a few hundred meters from KRT's European headquarters.

alex lowes arrives at the next test at the top of the championship (with 50 points against 41 Nicholas Bulega) after taking two famous victories at Phillip Island against a very high level peloton, riding the latest WorldSBK Ninja ZX-10RR. He and his team will have to focus on a different task in this test, with no points on the line, but significant track time to fine-tune their machines and racing setups.

Axel Bassani took part in his first race weekend with KRT at Phillip Island. Although unlucky, he scored points in every main race and learned the most important lessons from his new bike and his official team.

Catalonia has a very long straight, but in many ways it is a very different circuit to Phillip Island, making this test an important moment to maintain the good momentum from the start of the season into the next one. round which will take place from March 22 to 24.

Alex Lowes: “Our goal for this test is to continue working on the performance and race pace of the bike, while maintaining our grip longer than last year with both front and rear tires. Montmeló has a track that I really like and, being close to the team's workshop, it's like a second race at home. I’m looking forward to getting back with the team after two weeks at home, having fun and seeing if we can improve our package for the Barcelona – Catalunya races the following week.”

Axel Bassani: “After the first race weekend of the season, it is certain that the confidence with the bike will be better during this test. We have a lot of work to do and we will try to find a better configuration for the race weekend. We also hope that track conditions will be consistent throughout the session. We have some new ideas to try and see how they work. I'm happy to have two more days to test the track with KRT shortly before their home race weekend. It will be important to do a good job and achieve good results. We will try to take advantage of it and do our best to achieve our goals. »

Guim Roda (KRT Team Director): “After a very good start to the WorldSBK season in Australia, we will continue now that we are back in Europe. We know that the Montmeló and Assen weekends will be very important for us. This incredible opportunity to prepare for the next race during this sustained test will help us understand which direction to take. We still need to improve the bike's settings, so let's see how it goes over the next two days of testing. Hopefully we can take one more step to ensure a good bike setup for our KRT and Kawasaki Puccetti Racing riders. »
