Despite the little sun seen this morning during the Superpole, the track is still very wet for the start of the first race of the Superbike weekend which will take place over 21 laps.

As a reminder, the first line made up of the two BMWs from Eugene Laverty et Tom Sykes, in front of a Jonathan Rhea which experienced some slight heat on the Nivernais route.

When the red lights go out, Tom Sykes reacts best but Jonathan Rhea et Garrett gerloff perform excellent braking at the first corner while Sykes is crushed by the American and makes a mistake, dragging the second BMW.

After one lap, we find the two Kawasakis in the lead ahead of the two official Yamahas among whom quickly come in between Loris Baz.

We roll on eggshells and gerloff grabs second position to tease Jonathan Rea.

More Loris Baz is unleashed and overtakes the American, to try to get back on the leader of the general classification who is riding 7 tenths in front of him.

After four laps, the three men have a second and a half lead over alex lowes, himself credited with almost three seconds on Michael Van Der Mark.

In the sixth round, Garrett gerloff makes a mistake, but we don't forget that the American who is starting out in Superbike doesn't know the circuit and is a bit used to riding in the rain: His performance so far was very impressive!

On your mind, Loris Baz doesn't give up and rolls at 4/10 from the Cannibal: Will he be able to carry out an attack?

The answer is slow to come because the race seems stabilized for many laps. At the halfway point, the two men were four seconds ahead of the third, Alex Lowes.

Jonathan Rhea spins like a metronome and Loris Baz has difficulty keeping up. On the 14th lap, the Frenchman suddenly lost a second while, further back in the peloton, Michael Van Der Mark makes a minor mistake.

With six laps to go, the game seems to be over and the Ten Kate driver now seems to secure his second place.

Apart from the fall of Leon Haslam on the last lap as he battled with Toprak Razgatlioglu for 5th place, this first race at Magny-Cours will be without any further upheaval but with significant gaps.
