Toprak Razgatlıoğlu left his mark on the weekend World SBK Misano 2025, winning all three races of the Italian Superbike World Championship roundup. In front of more than 76 spectators, the Turkish BMW rider perfectly controlled the events, closing to within nine points of Nicolò Bulega in the general classification. This historic hat-trick puts a championship under high tension.
A total demonstration of Toprak in Misano
Already the author of a hat-trick at Misano in 2024 with Yamaha, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu did it again this year with BMW. Starting from pole in race 2, he immediately broke away and opened up a gap of almost ten seconds, by imposing a relentless rhythm. He also signed the best lap in the race for the seventh time this season, proving the superiority of his driver/machine package.
“I want to thank my team, who did an incredible job this weekend. We managed to improve the bike in every session. I had a big problem at Turn 4 all weekend, but I managed to manage it in the race. I pushed very hard because I knew that Nicolò, even starting from tenth, would come back quickly. I am very happy with these three victories.”, commented the Turk, now second in the championship.
Bulega limits the damage after a catastrophic Superpole
The weekend was more complex for Nicholas Bulega. Falling in Superpole Race after a collision with Axel Bassani, he rushed from the fourth line for race 2. But the Ducati rider showed strong mental strength by coming back to the second place after a series of sharp overtakes on Bautista, Lowes, Petrucci and Locatelli. However, he quickly understood that he would not be able to catch Razgatlıoğlu.
“It wasn't a perfect weekend. I had a bit of bad luck, so I'm happy with second place in Race 2. By the time I moved up to second, Toprak had already opened up a big gap. Finishing second was the smart decision: to catch him, we would have had to take too many risks. He was very strong, so congratulations to him and BMW.”

Alvaro Bautista
completes the podium after a difficult weekend, where high temperatures made it difficult to manage his bike. He finally regains a place in the top 3, six races after his last podium. His heated duel with Bulega at the start of the race livened up the proceedings.
“It's been a very difficult weekend. The high temperatures didn't help: in the morning I was fast and consistent, but the hotter the track got, the more complicated it became. In hot conditions, the bike is difficult to stop, especially with the low grip, and I went wide several times. Yesterday we had the pace for a podium, but starting from the back is complicated. The field is very tight here, so it was important to gain places in the Superpole Race to position ourselves well on the grid for Race 2. I was able to fight for the podium, and I'm happy to finish third. Now I want to get back to a better feeling and become more competitive.”
Andrea Locatelli, meanwhile, concluded a consistent weekend with three top 5s. The Yamaha rider resisted the attacks of Danilo Petrucci et Iker Lecuona, finishing fourth.
Behind, Garrett Gerloff finished eighth after a lively race.
